Trouble in Paradise (Jazz Tune), (c) 2013
Trouble in Paradise uses some devices from the tune Just Friends. In Just Friends, a resolution is repeatedly set up to come back to the tonic in G major, but always ends up going to the subdominant, C major 7, instead. It is as if the composer was looking for more in the relationship, but it always comes back to being just friends. Trouble in Paradise also has some resolutions that do not go where you think they are going to. It is like watching a storm on the beach. When the sun is out, the beach is fun, with a party going on, but when the storm rolls in, it is the same beach, but no one is around, the waves crash, and the sky looks disturbed. It is this juxtaposition of emotions that Trouble in Paradise represents. This mp3 is a Finale Demo.
